Technical Sessions


The International centre for Radio Science was organizing the first national Conference on "100 year of Millimeter waves and Sir J C Bose"   The National Conference on 100 year of Millimeter waves and Sir J C Bose was organized for the first time in the country.  This conference was held from 16th -17th December 1998 and was sponsored by various Scientific Departments of Government of India and Department of Science and Technology, Government of Rajasthan. This conference was unique because the participants came from all over India. The response was very good for the conference. The participants were from various Institutions from all over India. They belonged to DRDO, ISRO, different Research centres, IIT’s and different Universities. The contributions for the conference were from all these institutions. Dr. V P Sandlas,  inaugurated the conference and gave keynote address. ICRS welcomed the participants.

There were about 40 participants in the conference. The total numbers of sessions were seven. On the first day i.e. on 16th December 1998, the topics covered in the technical session were Radio Waves and Sir J C Bose , Radar and Sir J C Bose and Radio Waves communication and Sir J C Bose. On second day i.e. on 17th December 1998, three sessions were covered.  The topics discussed on this day in technical sessions were Millimeter wave Application and Sir J C Bose and Industrial application of Radio waves and Sir J C Bose. The Panel was chaired by Prof. O.P.N. Calla. The topic of the panel discussion was the impact of the works of Sir J C Bose on the Indian Scientific Community in Today's Context. The recommendation of the Panel was that ICRS should organize such conferences every year.
